A clever gent named Flick over at Puddlegum spent some time enumerating the reasons why Macs and musicians go together like peanut butter and jelly. 'Five reasons musicians love Macs' gives some strong insight into that "X" factor which makes creative professionals drool over the latest from the Cupertino kids. Flick explains, "The core of the artist is creativity, and the creativity of Apple is what generates the symbiotic relationship between the two. [...] The fresh looks keeps artists abuzz as they tire quickly of stale designs. While the look and feel of a PC hasn't changed much in the past ten years, think about the number of models that Apple has unveiled."
My favorite reason by far though, "Musicians are snobs, and so are Mac users." It's not always true, but it's true often enough to be funny and, he backs it up with a pretty good explanation.

1. I am a musician who absolutely despises the mac hardware. It's just an over bloated pos that costs twice as much as a machine that you could build yourself. Macs are only for the incompetent computer user, any self respecting geek will build his or her own box to exact specifications and load whatever operating system that fits.
DIE MAC USER SNOBS I HATE YOU ALL
