Wolfgang's Vault buys tower.com domain

We knew someone would get it, now the question is what are they going to do with it? According to Digital Music News, "Norton LLC, owner of Wolfgang's Vault, has now purchased Tower.com. The website is part of a broader liquidation, now underway following a bankruptcy purchase by Great American Group late last week. The San Francisco-based Norton grabbed the property for $3.8 million, along with Pulse, a magazine once owned by Tower. The purchase also includes 33rd Street Records, a label originally developed by the retailer. Norton plans to use the Tower.com destination to promote the Vault, a destination dedicated to 60s and 70s artists."

The Tower.com domain will live on by slinging the super hits of the 60s and 70s which, if you think about it for a few seconds, may be a fitting end. The giant had its heyday selling records to boomers, and it's going to live out its digital afterlife doing the same.
