We've all been dying to know when we can get our hands on a new Zune, and just how dearly we'll have to pay for the priviledge. A press release from Microsoft says that the nerds at Wikipedia are going to need to update the entry for November 14th. In addition to Herman Melvile's Moby Dick's first US publishing run, the sinking of the HMS Ark Royal and the wedding of Princess Anne, the Zune will claim November 14th as it's aniversary.
If there were a Wikipedia entry for $249 (and I'm surprised there isn't), it would also need to be updated to show the Zune as a member of the under two-hundred and fifty bucks club. Sharing a price point with the iPod, the Zune looks like it's ready to take a bite out of the Cupertino kids' Apple. Overwhelming amonts of hype led up to the recent press rollout of Microsoft's new player, and it's yet to be seen if it will live up to the expectations it set in pre-production once it's loose in the wilds of suburbia.
Of course, if you've been following Engadget, these were all foregone conclusions.
