A new project sponsored by the folks that brought you iPod Linux aims to reverse engineer the format of Apple's 5th Generation iPod games. The project goal is, "to enable people to write their own games for the iPod, for AppleOS. [...]We are NOT trying to crack the DRM on existing games. We are NOT trying to illegally spread purchased/protected games. Please do not ask to trade games with people. If you need some source material to work with, head to the iTunes Store, and buy a game or two."Through looking at PAC-MAN, as well as Zuma, and Golf the group has ascertained the proprietary format of Apple's images and archive files, and are looking to document the full range of internal functionality in the "igp" packages.
