It's the product rumor that wouldn't die. Apple's much theorized and dreamed about "iPhone" is on track for an announcement in first quarter 2007, according to Think Secret. Citing technical issues, Think Secret claims that, "Apple has scaled back its ambitions and has opted to go with several off-the-shelf parts for what will be the first of at least two or three different phones that sources say Apple hopes to deliver in 2007."
Disappointing. I personally don't want to see Apple even try to enter the mobile phone market unless they have a sure fire, leaps-and-bounds ahead product. Alas, industry pundits and Apple watchers alike are begging for the Apple mobile, and I imagine that the Cupertino kids are feeling the pressure to get something on the market.
