This blog has a special kinship with Weird Al, and if there was any wonder why that is, it should be resolved just as soon as you listen to this. Captain promotional-buzz really knows how to catch the public meme wave, as was proven recently with the release of his parody "You're Pitiful" which turned a giant negative (the first time he's been denied the right to release a parody on an album) into a giant positive (a huge internet buzz and one of the most downloaded songs of the year).
He's back, with "Don't Download This Song". A sappy and epic sounding plea for you to head off to the record store rather than hopping on the P2P networks.
Christopher Sprigman of Public Knowledge says, "My favorite line: Cause you start out stealing songs/then you're robbing liquor stores/and selling crack/and running over schoolkids with your car."
