The rumor mongers went wild yesterday after Digitunes posted a short article about a wireless iPod to compete with Microsofts coming Zune."Apple's headquarters has begun dispatching its staff to its major markets in Asia, to teach local sales how to demonstrate the new products, the sources noted."
No way says Apple, a company who usually refrains from comment on rumor of upcoming products. A spokesman from Apple Taiwan denied the reports but speculation remains. Many analysts see a wi-fi enabled iPod as a logical next step and a required answer to the supposedly wireless Zune, due out for Christmas.
Of course, this rumor has seen a bit of daylight before.
