As much as you may hate the buzzword, its an undeniable fact that interactive "Web 2.0" sites are forming quite an influential social force when it comes to music, movies, literature and even news stories. The user eConsultant of the site HubPages (you know it's Web 2.0 when the logo includes the word "beta") has created what may be the ultimate list of Web 2.0 music services. Forty Seven sites make the list so far, and it's no surprise to see giants Pandora and Last.fm among the contenders.
With forty seven spots, the list also includes lesser known hot-spots as well. Notably, Jamendo (a Creative Commons service which we've covered before) and WebJay (a social music play-listing service that was gobbled up by Yahoo in 2005 at the same time as Flickr).
Suspiciously absent? CCmixter. The service that is designed for music artists and producers to link up and produce new tracks and samples using Creative Commons licensed works.
