Hawthorne Heights sues vocal anti iTunes label Victory Records

Victory RecordsMainstream Pop-punk band Hawthorne Heights has sued its label, Victory Records, aleging that "overly-aggressive, unethical and illegal schemes and tactics" have damaged the group's reputation. Hawthorne Heights also accuses the label and its owner, Tony Brummel of incorrectly calculating royalties, and underpaying or not paying at all for digital downloads, ringtones and overseas sales.

Brummel is also well known, and we've blogged about his vocal stance against iTunes and the canibalization that occurs when albums are eschwed for single tracks.

Ironicly, in wikiality, Brummels label does sell and promote its own music via iTunes, only under seperate imprint labels.
