I ran across this while looking for video or audio that does a good, concise job of explaining why DRM is a bad idea. It's still not a presentation my mother could watch, understand and get behind but, it's a great deal closer than many other attempts.
It features David Berlind, Executive Editor from ZDnet with a white board, a few markers and a really hip pair of -- I live in the valley so I wear plastic framed -- glasses. He imparts a new acronym to explain DRM; C.R.A.P.
C.R.A.P., according to Berlind, stands for:
Content
Restriction
Anulment (and)
Protection
Makes sense, all except the "protection" part. The only thing DRM is protecting is device and operating system market share.. not content.
