"John Doe" Attempts to Undermine the RIAA's Methodology
I wonder if 2006 might be the year that the RIAA's personal litigation strategy is dismantled. In addition to Patricia
Santangelo's ongoing
(and admittedly risky) trial preparation, another defendent is smacking back at the RIAA on issues of legal process.
The as-yet unidentified "John Doe" has attempted to stop the
case on the ground that joining unrelated defendents (the batch subpeonas used by the RIAA) is impermissable. In a
resourceful maneuver, this individual has also recruited a programmer's testimony that the means by which the RIAA
