Olive Symphony

David Pogue is raving over the Olive Symphony, a hi-fi convergence device that connects with computer, iPods, asnd stereos. The Symphony (and its larger-capacity sibling, the Musica), offers one-button CD ripping, wireless compatibility with the home network, and—uniquely—the ability to load an iPod, not just receive tracks from the iPod. The shelftop component can also be operated from a computer, and can serve as a full-fledge wireless router. Olive is a classical-oriented company that also offers a playlisting feature that handles the unique challenges of tagging classical music. But the Symphony and Musica work with any sort of music, naturally. The setup can be expanded with little Sonata devices placed in rooms which independently play tracks from the Symphony hard drive.
