Using an impressive combination of glibness and presumption, California senator Diane Feinstein ripped into file-sharing, citing a "rise in peer to peers" and claiming it will "destroy these intellectual property industries" (as quoted in CNET). Her remarks were made in a Senate Judiciary Hearing; a transcript of that hearing has not yet appeared on the Thomas search engine. Techdirt notes that Feinstein's election campaigns have been financed in part by entertainment industries.
