The announced collaboration of the RIAA and MPAA with Internet2 could hardly be more vague. One noticeable aspect of it though, is that every quote delivered by an RIAA or MPAA executive includes the words "DRM" or "protected." You can sense the fear vibrating through every utternace. Even a cursory awareness of history leads one to believe that a collaboration with a high-speed distribution protocol wouldn't be about the liberation of music, but about the constriction of user quality.
