A copy of incriminating letters and e-mails has been posted online by Eliot Spitzer's office. The PDF file is here. The fascination of this thing derives from how casual, professional, entrenched was payola at Sony BMG, and how it was openly implemented by executives. There is nothing secretive or abashed about this illegal practice. You can't help wondering how executives at other major labels are feeling now, as the investigation proceeds through their ranks.
