Study: P2P Users More Likely to Use Authorized Services

Survey results from The Leading Question indicate that P2P users spend four and a half time as much money on paid downloading that people who don't use P2P. The study data, report, and methodology are not available on the Leading Question site. It makes for an attractive headline, which is being run by British sources BBC, The Register, and Guardian Unlimited. As far as I can tell, the story is no less glib than much of the "piracy is dying" rhetoric we've been seeing from the IFPI lately. Conflicxting studies prove one thing only: It's impossible to definitively measure the effect of file-sharing on other consumer activity.
