AppleInsider reports that iTunes users can expect a new version (4.8) possibly as early as this week, and that it will bundle "security enhancements." Not difficult to infer what that means: possibly the latest round of blocking against Real's Harmony technology, which was recently updated and packaged into Rhapsody 3.0, and the Linux-enabling DRM-stripping projects by DVD Jon and his team. I'm looking forward to an ongoing Real/Apple feud.
