As promised, the Motion Picture Association of America has sued Bit Torrent servers. At the time of this post, Suprnova—probably the best known and most trafficked clearinghouse for BT files—is making no mention of the MPAA action. Since over 100 servers were targeted, presumably Suprnova was one of them, but that is uncertain. Speaking of lawsuits driving users to more decentralized systems (were we talking about that?), Suprnova is rumored to be developing a proprietary client that makes each user a Tracker, distributing responsibility for seeding the network throughout the entire community of users.
Meanwhile, Finnish police conducted a physical raid of a Bit torrent tracker, seizing equipment and arresting four employees and 30 volunteers.
