Music download site Puretones.com has settled with the record labels which sued it for infringement, forking over 10-million dollars. The four partners who owned and operated the service also paid a combined $500,000. One of the principals was Wayne Rosso, whose exclusive July 1 interview with this blog is here. Puretones is no longer operating as as download site—it has been denatured into a music-oriented search directory that deliver mostly ads. Interestingly, the site's title tag reads "The Leading Music Site on the Net."
